South African born singer songwriter Erica Steenkamp has recently broken into the London gig scene with original songs that are unique and has immediate appeal.  She plays her own style of open tuning, accompanying herself on rhythm bass guitar that  gives her music a defining energy and depth of sound.  Audiences compare her to Susan Vega with a hint of Joni MitcheI. She has teamed up with guitarist Christopher NewIand to form the band ‘Erica and the WiIdebeest’, a name that connects her to her African roots.
